A truck that works on a Midtown plaza does not work on a Bushwick lot, and neither of them works the way a Staten Island driveway does. The location is the part of an NYC booking that decides everything else, so it is the part we solve first.
What actually changes between them is not the truck. It is where the truck is allowed to stand, and how long it can stand there.
You cannot park a food truck anywhere in New York City. That does not need to be your problem.
Not beside a hydrant, not at a bus stop, not across much of Midtown during business hours, and not on a block where somebody is going to call it in an hour after you arrive.
What we do about it: scout the location, pull the permits, carry the insurance, file the certificates your venue’s risk team will ask for, and put the truck somewhere it can legally stay for the length of your window.
What we need from you: a rough footprint, a service window, and a venue contact if there is one. Power is optional. Trucks run on their own generator by default, and if you would rather it were quiet, shore power from the building usually works.
Summer is not a surprise to anyone. Searches for NYC trucks roughly triple between November and July, and the good Saturdays from May to September are gone well before the month starts. December fills early for a shorter reason: everyone wants the same three weeks.
Two to three weeks out for an unbranded truck. Three to six if it is wrapped, because the design has to be approved and printed before anything can be parked.
Unbranded and staffed, $1,500 to $9,000 for the day. Branded, from $10,000. A multi-day or multi-market run starts around $50,000, and the wrap cost spreads across every day of it rather than being paid again each morning.
